March 8^th is International Women’s Day.  What is International Women’s Day? As the website states “International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.”

I believe in empowering women, education and becoming part of the solution.   As Sheryl WuDunn explains in her talk it is sometimes difficult for us to comprehend the realities around the world that many women face.  She speaks briefly about lending programs that offer women the opportunity to start up their business for as little as $65.  I have mentioned on my website that I will be selecting female entrepreneurs from rural areas around the globe on www.kiva.org.  I don’t think there could be a better day to kick start this program than International Women’s Day. 

On March 8^th if you purchase a freshwater pearl strand, in any colour, on my website http://shop.kaviarpearls.com/ you will be able to purchase the matching bracelet for only $20, and the entire $20 will go towards the lending program.
